Cloud + Apps Converge to Create Capital-Lite Cos

“With the rise of cloud computing, we’re seeing more of a new breed of extremely lightweight company, unencumbered by capital investments, acting as a broker of services assembled from offerings drawn from or supported by third-party providers. Imagine the possibilities when this is combined with the emerging mobile “App Economy,” in which budding enterprises can be supported by micro-revenues streaming in from online app sales.” via Joe McKendrick, Forbes

QRCs for RIPs

I think this is a fantastic idea! You scan, you get a bio, pics, historical context, published works, whatever. Think of the incredible possibilities for retrofitting existing sites, and the amazing project possibilities for local historical societies, living and monumental museums (like Fort York for example).  Flanders Fields, omg!

I Want My QRC

Ready for my close-up!

In many parts of the world, the scanning of a QR Code has become the door to the mobile Internet.

Do you use a QRC to help people find you? It’s very easy to generate the code with free online resources and adding this image to your business card, for example, makes it very easy for anyone to access your deets in a matter of seconds, then bookmark, add you to their contact list, etc. Sweet.

Here’s a link for one generator, but there are many to choose from: http://www.qrcodegen.com/
